When did you last visit your public library branch? DYK our libraries create opportunities to learn, engage, and build new relationships, forming new communities?
But DYK libraries offer so much more?

Have you observed the patrons who go in and out the doors? It was closing time last night #bloorgladstone . I let the last patron go ahead of me on my way out. Where will he go next with his belongings overflowing in his small cart?
Most mornings, I head for the 4th floor #torontoreferencelibrary to get my key for “The Writer’s Room” to learn more👉 https://bit.ly/2JpHlJw I walk past another regular patron. I see him because he is always at “his table” face down with his belongings scattered around him. I try to find small ways to help – food, some small token of hope. For us, the Library is home, office, a safe space to rest, to create, to be.
Since 2013 I have the privilege of collaborating with #torontolibrary . I try my best to #payitforward because the Library has given me much more than I could possibly hope to give back. #abundance #gratitude
Why not visit your branch – find it here 👉 https://bit.ly/2u9K7MF today and share your #userexperience ? #howtobehuman #befearless #wisdom

Jean, you got me thinking.
Toronto’s library system has come back into my life with a vengeance. I enjoyed it as a kid borrowing books and toys and attending events—teddy bear picnic…bring your own bear.
However, as an adult, the list is longer. In stores, my daughter and I stick to a list, but at the library we can have everything we want—as long as we can carry it home. Some books are selected for pretty covers, never to be opened. That’s okay. And it’s like Christmas when there is a Hold waiting for us. The latest and greatest, a good classic, something obscure.
Last night, it was a workshop for how to make Facebook work for your business at the Lillian H. Smith branch. Made a couple of new friends too. The plan is to ‘book a librarian’ for some follow up one-on-one support. The day before I listened to you speak at the reference library—my favourite location where I meet my friend, Jessica, weekly for coffee and writing. Last Tuesday, I had my weekly SisterWrites meeting at the Bloor/Gladstone branch.
The library is where my kiddo, tippy-toed, stands at the counter and asks where the Dogman books are. It’s their Agatha Christie online audiobooks that put me to sleep at night.
I’d fight to the death if someone goes for my library card.
I love the Library, too, Nina! #librarypeople Thank you for coming to our #networking talk and actively participating. Enjoyed having you with us!
